A Product I Like: Costco Artichoke Hearts
These artichoke hearts from Costco’s private Kirkland label are tasty and more importantly need no trimming. Economical too. Perfect for pasta sauce, salads and pizza.
There is a catch though. There’s always a catch. They contain canola oil. Not ideal but I guess unheated canola oil is slightly less bad than canola oil that has been cooked at a high temperature.
Corporations need to maximize profit at the expanse of everything else. Saving money by using canola oil instead of olive oil was probably the idea of some middle management suck-up at corporate headquarters who is full of self regard.
To be fair to Costco their employee pay and benefits are much better than what other giant supermarket chains offer.
