Beware of Chinese Wheat Straw Bowl Branding
At work, a long time volunteer wants to help us get bowls. They ordered sample wheat straw bowls from three different companies, on Amazon.
The packaging and branding was definitely for three different companies but the bowls from all three were identical. Absolutely the same exact product with the same color scheme and the same information embossed on the bottom.
Wheat straw bowls are biodegradable and inexpensive. Made from the scraps left over from wheat harvesting. They aren’t dishwasher safe or as durable as hard plastic bowls. I hate to say it, but we’ll need to opt for plastic when we finally pick bowls to purchase.
Back to Amazon they go!
A search for “Genlge wheat straw bowls” (Live Green Love Green … Genius Eco. New Life. Green Earth.) revealed only Amazon links. These wheat straw bowls are all made in one factory in China and then marketed as many different brands.
