Big Changes Coming to Nirvana Wok in 2025

Next year will be Nirvana Wok’s fifth year in operation and major changes to the organization are in the works.

Email Newsletter Going Monthly

Publishing the newsletter monthly instead of daily will allow me to create higher quality, lengthier posts and will be less intrusive to future subscribers.

Nirvana Wok Rebranding

I have decided that wok cooking is not a priority for the organization. We’ll still be called Nirvana Wok and keep the logo, but “Wok” will now be an acronym for “world of kindness” and not the cooking utensil. A new menu will be developed reflecting this change.

This also means there is no need to update the domain name and media presence and bank accounts and whatnot. Easiest rebranding ever, and our new name is just weird enough to capture people’s attention. We all need a nirvana world of kindness.

Back to Focusing on Mutual Aid

I went a bit off the rails this year with the daily email newsletter opining about junk food and other things not directly related to our core mission - mutual aid.

Corporate Restructuring

In 2025 Nirvana Wok will evolve from being an LLC to being a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit. This will allow us to accept grants and tax-deductible donations and provide a launch pad for potential future expansion. I’m fully aware of how much work is involved here and have been studying the application process, networking with others in the nonprofit world and searching for potential board members. I’ll probably also have to hire someone to help - perhaps a tax attorney.

Okay - back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Yes We Narcan!

We had two overdoses at work last week. Nobody died, thanks to the miracle drug Naloxone in nasal spray form. Everybody should be carrying this - look how small the individual dose is.
