Junk Food Fail - Dot's Pretzels
Dot’s “Homestyle” pretzels contain artificial butter flavor, which is a horrible compound that will ruin any snack. Imagine a pretzel that tastes like popcorn from a bad movie theater. Dot’s is a “proud member of the Pride of Dakota brand,” which is associated with the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. Dot’s was created “many years ago by Dot herself” and that is obviously meaningless marketing bullshit. There’s no nutritional value here, just salt, flour, chemicals and bad branding.

UPDATE: Debbie, one of our subscribers, pointed out the Dot’s was acquired by The Hershey Company for 1.2 billion (!) in 2021. Predictably, Dot’s closed it’s American factory shortly thereafter and moved overseas to take atvantage of a low tax situation, and cheap, non-union labor - firing it’s two dozen employees in South Dakota. Charming.
