Saying Goodbye to the Nirvana WOK P.O. Box
And rest in peace C.J. Kiljanczyk
Nirvana WOK signed up for a post office box last year but it was not useful and now we’re cancelling it. Charity organizations sometimes waste money and in our case this was a defenestrated $200. After a year (about 50 cents per day) the only mail Nirvana WOK got was addressed to Charles J. Kiljanczyk - a former user of the P.O. box who died over 25 years ago. Charles was born in 1914, began working for the Potlatch timber corporation in 1939 and served in the Air Force in World War II. “His greatest interest was in botany, especially fern and mushroom identification,” according to the Lewiston (Idaho) Tribune.

Spies Like Us
Gothamist reports that Wegman’s supermarkets in New York City are collecting and storing biometric data from their customers. “Eyes, voices and faces.”
Sherman’s March to Oblivion
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution published their last print issue on December 31, 2025. Atlanta is now the only major city in the United States that does not have a daily printed newspaper.
Nemo Malus Felix
“Peace visits not the guilty mind.” A reminder that American military aggression since World War II is nothing new. If you are shocked by our recent shenanigans in Venezuela, read a history book.
A looser translation of “Nemo Malus Felix” would be “no rest for the wicked.” As in - in a better world, a whole bunch of people in the American corporate and government spheres would end up in jail.
