A Billionaire View of Snow Covered Mountains
Photo of Viet Wah site being bulldozed, a day after the fire.
This shot was taken facing due West, where you can see snow covered mountains if you zoom in, down Jackson street.
To the right of the photo are new buildings at Yesler Terrace — “the state's first public housing development and the first racially integrated public housing development in the United States” — which has been redeveloped. How the area remained a low income housing situation for so long (until billionaire Paul Allen’s Vulcan Real Estate swooped in) remains a mystery. Yesler Hill has the best views in the city.
