The Duwamish River at Low Tide
The aboriginals were living and thriving on the Duwamish watershed thousands of years before colonizers arrived and stole their land.
The Boeing corporation was established on the banks of the river in 1916 and the quality of the environment has been going downhill ever since.
According to nearby signage from Boeing “in recent decades, significant efforts to clean up contamination and restore lost habitat along the Duwamish waterway have enhanced the community and its connection to place.”
Much work is yet to be done. On the river, that is. Boeing is a lost cause.
