Quynh-Vy and Yenvy Pham were nominated for a James Beard award again this year. They own Pho Bac Sup Shop, the Boat, and Phocific Standard Time.
Currently both Pho Bac and the Boat have “okay” ratings from King County Public Health. In this case “okay” equals “bad” because anything less than a “good” rating means that the back of the house has food safety issues.
The rating is based on the average of high risk violations from the last 4 routine inspections, according to King County. Pho Bac was last inspected on January 8 of this year.

Being a Vegetarian I have a had time getting good Pho especially since Greenleaf closed. Most of the Pho Vegetarian broth is bland with no herbs and umami. I am Pho less. I went to the one up kitty corner from Red Apple, and again: no lemongrass, no thai basil, no lime, no cinnamon, no star anise ,no charred onion, no garlic = no TASTE.
