Beer battered onion rings. White onions sliced thick, tossed in flour and corn starch mix. Dipped in mix of flour, beer, Cajun spice. Really messy - this is a dish you want to order in a restaurant.
Used canola oil this time which is not a healthy option but guess what most restaurants use for their deep fried treats? The worst, most unhealthy seed oils imaginable.
A healthy alternative to this would be to eat raw onions in a salad.

Think Tempura and add other veggies like mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower , thin sliced yams, carrots, and I use Safflower oil. You need a light oil so it doesn’t burn or smoke as you know! Deep fried is for special dinners other wise I shallow fry things like French fries which I ain’t got time to double fry. And they are great!👍🏽
